We are proud to announce that our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The SBTi is an independent climate action organization that supports companies in setting emissions reduction targets in line with the latest science.

We are now working towards the following SBTi-validated targets:

  • Reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 80% by 2033, compared to a 2023 base year
  • Reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and the use of sold products by 61.1% per CHF value added within the same timeframe

These targets define a clear and measurable pathway to reduce our carbon footprint and align our climate action with global efforts to limit climate change.

Delivering on our climate commitment

This validation builds on our commitment made in 2024 to define near-term emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science. It confirms that our decarbonization pathway is both credible and aligned with internationally recognized standards.

«This validation is an important milestone for VAT Group. It shows that our targets are ambitious, science-based, and it reinforces our commitment to turning sustainability into measurable results» says Fabian Chiozza, our CFO.

To achieve our targets, we are implementing a set of focused measures across our operations and value chain, including improving energy efficiency across our sites, working closely with suppliers to reduce value chain emissions, and supporting our customers in lowering emissions during the use of our products.

By integrating sustainability into our business processes, we aim to deliver both environmental impact and long-term value.

Building on progress

The SBTi validation marks an important milestone in our sustainability journey, but it is not the end point. We will continue to advance our efforts, monitor progress, and further embed environmental considerations into our strategy and operations.

Further details on our activities and progress can be found in our latest Sustainability Report.
